Our Council’s Pro-Life Purpose
In concert with the overall pro-life programs of the Supreme Knights of Columbus, the current Council 5776 Pro-Life Group efforts are focused on the following main initiatives:
Awareness & Education
Assist in the education and awareness of pro-life issues in our home parish through the distribution/display of pro-life brochures/pamphlets, sharing of current news, and of current issues that impact life decisions made by health providers and government organizations.
Prayer
Provide and promote opportunities for communal pro-life prayer and meditation. The promotion of the Culture of Life is at odds against the prevalent culture of this world. To be able to properly discern and to be properly strengthened for this struggle, THE key weapon at our disposal is prayer. If we truly desire to impart our Lord’s compassion and care as we reach out to those in need, we should first prepare ourselves to receive that guidance and strength that can only come from one source.
Action
Through proper awareness & education and preparation through prayer, establish and implement activities that advocate the pro-life culture such as the protection of pre-born babies, defending natural end-of-life decisions, and promotion of non-fetal stem-cell research.
